Youth Leadership Program
The Gramothhan Youth Leadership Program (YLP) empowers young people in rural Odisha to become community leaders and change-makers. It focuses on leadership, civic awareness, and rational thinking, helping youth contribute meaningfully to education and social transformation in their communities.
Key Goals
- Train rural youth to become community educators, facilitators, and change-makers.
- Enhance social and civic awareness among rural youth.
- Educate youth on constitutional values, rights, and responsibilities.
- Foster rational thinking, scientific temper, and a questioning mindset.
- Develop leadership, problem-solving, communication skills, and perspective building.
Program Highlights
- Implemented since 2017 in colleges across Sonepur district
- Targets youth aged 15–25 years through 2–3 hours/week engagement
- Led by a Program Coordinator with strong involvement of parents, SMCs, and local governance
- Develops leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
